I think a true friend should not ditch/blame you in any kind of hard situation that they were in together….

Well I think becoming friends with someone else is very easy. However, becoming very very very very very close friends with someone, so close that you share your secrets and everything with them, is one of the hardest things to find; a very true best friend. Like what Arial said, true friends would never lie to you, gossip behind your back, tell everyone else your secrets, e.t.c.
